About Vista Equity Partners
Investing in Enterprise Software
Smith founded Vista in 2000 with the belief that enterprise software would transform the global economy through advancements in connectivity and productivity. As that conviction has become reality, Vista has emerged as one of the most active technology investors, widely recognized for its leadership and expertise in the sector. Over time, and with each new vintage and additional strategy, the firm has adapted its ability to invest in next-generation businesses. Today, Vista manages a diversified portfolio of software companies that provide mission-critical solutions to millions of customers around the world.
A Focus on Value Creation
For more than 25 years, Vista has implemented a differentiated approach to enterprise software investing that prioritizes value creation. The firm’s goal is to help founders and executives build better businesses with enduring market value by focusing on building the right leadership team and priorities to maximize enterprise value. Vista provides its companies with proprietary best practices, along with a team of operating executives and subject matter experts to help accelerate their growth.
The Arrival of Generative AI
Recognizing the considerable opportunity presented by generative AI (Gen AI) and now agentic AI, Vista has focused on preparing its portfolio of companies for an AI-driven future. Vista portfolio companies have adopted Gen AI across code generation, internal operations and within their products to advance their businesses. The portfolio continues to explore innovative use cases to expand product and solution offerings sets. Vista has hosted several hackathons and partnered with Cloud Service Providers, Gen AI platforms and consulting organizations to enable frictionless innovation for its portfolio companies.
