Smith, the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Vista Equity Partners (Vista), discussed how generative AI can serve as a catalyst for systemic change and can usher in more equitable representation in the tech industry. Smith mentioned how Vista hosts hackathons and ensures that students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) participate in order to connect diverse groups with the latest technology. Finally, he noted a generative AI curriculum introduced at Morehouse College by Stats Perform, a Vista portfolio company, will be rolled out to more HBCUs.
